The long way back up the Torn, rain and mosquitoes

We spend the 27th in Tornio, resting and waiting Vincent to get better after his cold.

Visiting the town is done quickly, there is only one art galery open. On the swedish side of the river, we can see the gigantic IKEA store.

Having a kitchen in the camping is still great, we can cook some nice meals : mushroom-onions omelette and boiled potatoes with butter (still looking ugly on the picture though).

The night is short and we wake up at so-called dawn : even after midnight, there is enough light in the sky so that everybody can see you piss near your tent.

Leaving early (at 8AM !!!), we start going back up the Torn and say goodbye to the coast.

Just reaching the riverbank, it's starting to rain a lot, forcing us to wear all our rain equipment. And once outside the (small) city center, we can't stop for long, enduring heavy mosquito attacks in less than 10s !
There is no other way than the big road with the same fir tree forests we've been seeing for a month now. We need new landscapes !

Finnish drivers can be very nice when overtaking us alone, but they usually don't slow down and can leave a zero-like margin if there is somebody on the other way. It's very unpleasant and stressing...

Although rain hasn't stopped, we did 70km by noon and rest at this fast-food spotted 40km ago. In such a day, there is nothing like a warm, dry and almost mosquito-free place to eat (not so bad burgers by the way)!

We do have some of this powerfull mosquito repulsive spray but don't believe it to be as a space suit : protected areas don't get stings but they still fly around you and try on an unprotected area nearby.

Rain is slowly stopping in the afternoon, letting us see a bit of the surroundings... when the road permits it !

Misunderstanding each other, we stop in a very rustic and simple camping, getting covered with mosquitoes as we stop. There's a living room where we can rest a bit but it's not insect-proof and our tent will be the ultimate shelter.
Let's hope tomorrow will be better...
